Doula Services
The main goalis to prepare you for birth by offering
supplemental
education that is typically left out of traditional childbirth
education classes. Fear is the number one reason for
long,
painful births. It is vital that you are confident, when
you enter the hospital, about the process of birth and
that
you are as relaxed as possible. For this reason, you
can
have as many prenatal visits as you need.
Your Doula will be on call 24/7 starting 2 weeks prior
to
your due date. Once your labor begins, she will come
to be
with you from the time that you determine (at home with
you
during early labor, or at the hospital). The Doula
cannot
check your cervical progress. She will remain
with you and
your birth team until after the baby has been born (approx.
2 hours
after birth) and then meet with you again 1-2 times postnatally.
From the time that you contract her services, until your
last prenatal
visit, you will have access to phone counseling during
prescribed
hours of the day.
