The Rogue Valley CoinShooters, a metal detecting club of which I am a member, gives out monthly awards in four categories. Awards are handed out based on secret ballot vote by club members. The actual award is a Walking Liberty Half Dollar Coin. Best Coin This award is given out for presenting the finest coin in the best condition. Rarity counts. The coin must have been found since the date of the last meeting. Oldest Coin This award is given out for presenting the oldest coin. The coin must have been found since the date of the last meeting. Best Jewelry This award is given out for presenting the nicest piece of jewelry. If gold, caret weight counts. Jewelry with manufactures marks usually will take precedence over non-marked jewelry. Fine hand made jewelry may take precedence over marked manufactured jewelry. Best "Other" This award is given out for presenting the object deemed the most unique for the month. Any detected object is eligible for this category.
