Until I got to Shady Cove. It started to rain. Then it rained a little harder.....Harder still. I knew it was time to stop when the cars on the road started pulling over because their windshield wipers could not keep up with the rain. So, I started looking for a place to bail. By this time, the wind was kicking up at around 40 mph, the rain was coming down in sheets, and the lightning was starting to crack overhead. Alongside the road on the same side I was traveling I came upon a small restaurant that had been closed a few years back. So I took shelter under the overhang by the front entrance. There was about 10 square feet of room under the overhang, but much of it was still getting wet due to the rain and wind. You can see the area above. I stood directly in front of the green door. |
